8Z Shield v1.0
What 8Z Shield is
8Z Shield turns ordinary HTML into a protected, deployable artifact. The core promise is simple: creators can ship interactive content without building a full SaaS stack, while still getting encryption, optional traceability, and optional access controls.
8Z Shield is not presented as a new cryptographic primitive. It is a layered product architecture for controlled delivery of browser-native digital artifacts.
Encrypts final HTML into a standalone browser-unlock page. No server is required.
Can also package protected files into a single .8zv bundle for archive, transport, or later extraction.
Optional fingerprinting marks each build to support later leak attribution.
Deployment modes
| Mode | Purpose | What the user sees |
|---|---|---|
| Core | Pure static protection | Open page, enter passphrase, unlock content |
| Controlled Delivery | Flexible deployment workflow | Single protected access flow for the end user |
| Access Control | Optional anti-rehost control | Authorized access works in the approved delivery context |
| Managed Recovery | Optional convenience mode | Recovery availability may be shown, but reset handling depends on the operator’s recovery gateway |
This paper describes the operator-visible features and user-visible behavior. Internal deployment mechanics, private operator controls, and non-public build parameters belong in the private appendix.
What users need to know
User-facing expectations
- Protected builds open in a normal browser and ask for a passphrase.
- Some builds may be tied to the official deployment origin.
- Some builds may advertise managed recovery availability.
- Some builds may be fingerprinted for leak attribution.
The user receives either a standalone protected page or a deployment link.
The passphrase unlocks the encrypted payload locally in the browser.
No permanent account system is required in core mode.
Security limits
8Z Shield reduces exposure and raises abuse cost. It does not claim to make plaintext impossible after legitimate unlock.
The system is strongest against casual copying, rehosting, repository scraping, and operational misuse. It is not marketed as perfect DRM.
What operators get
Build outputs
.8zvbundle for archive or extraction- Standalone protected HTML pages for direct hosting or delivery
- Optional controlled-delivery outputs for hosted protected access
- Optional trace manifest
- Optional recovery descriptor when managed recovery is enabled
Positioning
8Z Shield sits in the gap between a plain downloadable file and a full SaaS application. That middle space is the product category: rich digital artifacts with controlled protection but low infrastructure burden.
The product value is in the stack: packaging, protection, controlled access, traceability, and operator workflow. That combined shape is what makes the system differentiated.
